Job Description
As a Key Account Manager (KAM) the selected candidate will work closely with our Business Line & Sales Management to ensure the strong implementation of sales strategies and structures in North America.
The candidate collaborates with Global Sales Teams, Engineering, Product Line and Quality teams to ensure Swissbit products and services are communicated and supported effectively and professionally to our rapidly growing North American customer base.
The KAM has a key role as both a customer advocate and technical liaison to our internal Swissbit teams, and is responsible for the collection, analysis and presentation of both current and forward-looking market / customer direction, requirements and identification of features and first to market opportunities.
Essential duties and responsibilities (but not limited to) :
Identify, assess and manage business opportunities and tactics / actions to win bids. Coordinate resources in order to achieve design wins.
Negotiate all contractual matters and quotations with the customer on a global basis. Develop comprehensive global customer business strategy.
Coordinate sales and customer strategies with business line to define appropriate product roadmaps to address customer needs.
Sales Business Management - Oversee preparation of the customer bottom-up sales plan (budget) and monitor it on regular basis.
Carry out customer reviews and track / secure the fulfilment of all action items (design-ins, bookings, billings, service and quality issues).
Provide the necessary inputs for sales forecast. Set annual global account sales targets and monitor progress toward achievement of the targets.
Customer Relationship Development
Secure access to all relevant decision makers at executive level and below at the customer. Maintain professional relationships with relevant customer contact.
Create global account relationship development plan in order to secure appropriate relationships within the customer. Communicate appropriate customer specific information to immediate management.
Recognized by customers as empowered to champion customers’ needs within Swissbit.
- Establish contacts at all levels between Swissbit and customers including but not limited to Purchasing, Engineering, Program Management, Management, Operations, Quality, etc.
- Create a dialog between top management personnel at Swissbit and customers’ Leadership
- Proactive leader that can motivate direct and indirect team members as well as other partners. Lead by example with a positive attitude.
Create new concepts and methods to achieve assigned objectives. Able to influence key executives from long distance to support one’s strategy
- Independent support of an existing and new customer base with qualified technical advice, demanding sales negotiations and corresponding budget responsibility.
- Further development of direct strategic relationships and an intensive and sustainable cooperation with our engineering, quality and supply chain teams.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Embedded Storage & IoT market including, but not limited to; current and future SSD technology advancements, world-wide market dynamics, and competitive analysis that will help position Swissbit as a leader and promote the Swissbit value proposition.
- Proactively capture new applications and emerging market requirements for product roadmap alignment.
- Collaborate in building sales structures and new customer business for new, adjacent markets.
- Understand and document customer applications and use cases and support product management and technical marketing in defining opportunities to create added value and solution sets.
- Manage, track, communicate, and coordinate with internal personnel to obtain and deliver the required customer support deliverables.
Required experience and skills :
- BS / AS accredited degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Technical Sales required.
- Several years of professional experience and proof of success in account management in the B2B / NetCom or Enterprise sector.
- Experience in the industrial electronics field and / or security applications is an advantage.
- Proven negotiation skills, strong communication skills and high commitment.
- Entrepreneurial thinking, personal responsibility and very strong customer focus.
- Proficiency in the following programs is required; MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), Salesforce.com.
- Travel as much as necessary based on meeting sales goals.
- Excellent assertiveness and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
