General Summary / Purpose : The Johns Hopkins University School of Education (SOE) invites applicants for the position of ITGL Teaching and Technology Specialist for the International Teaching and Global Leadership (ITGL) Cohort.
They will assist in providing course and technology support and facilitate communication between the students and faculty.
The ITGL Teaching and Technology Specialist's goal is to support the success of the course and students by providing students with additional academic support.
They will assist students in understanding content by using various teaching / tutoring strategies. *Please note, this is a Casual hourly position;
it is not a full-time opportunity. Specific Duties & Responsibilities : Assist faculty instructor(s) with : Preparing materials for coursework sessions Grading coursework assignments Facilitating and supporting classroom interactions and discussions including, though not limited to, small group work and breakout sessions Various course-related administrative and technology tasks Help maintain course learning platform sites, including but not limited to posting assignments, editing and posting notes and / or PowerPoint slides for student access Performs other duties as assigned by faculty Supporting the implementation of the digital portfolio, including but not limited to assisting with portfolio presentation preparation, assisting with task card review and approval, and providing general student support as needed Supporting cohort wide technology initiatives, including but not limited to creating Microsoft Forms, tracking Microsoft Form responses, and assisting with updates to the cohort site Supporting all Focus Areas, including but not limited to conducting research, and assisting with other related duties as assigned Provide Extended Learning support, including but not limited to updating the cohort site, tracking student sign up at individual locations and providing general support as needed Required to : Engage in weekly planning conversations with the faculty instructor(s) and lead Be present for each course session Engage in instructional planning sessions with the ITGL faculty Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations High level of comfort with technology and the online course format Strong knowledge of content area for specific courses Strong knowledge of research methodology, learning sciences, learning theory, or other theories of learning Excellent computer skills Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Blackboard and related programs Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree.
Completed Master's degree in related field strongly preferred. Prior teaching experience in the relevant course content area preferred.
