We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team and play a pivotal role in our mission to provide exceptional care during critical moments.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at our Crisis Receiving Center, you will be an essential part of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for delivering expert care to individuals facing a variety of crises.
Your role will encompass medication administration, monitoring of clients, and collaboration with our dedicated staff to ensure that our clients receive the care they need during their stay.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will work under the direction of a clinic psychiatrist and perform a variety of essential duties to ensure the well-being and care of our clients.
Responsibilities include processing medication orders, administering medications, providing routine supportive counseling, conducting client assessments, maintaining medical records, and assisting with medical examinations.
Additionally, the LPN will be responsible for dispensing methadone, managing medication inventories, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a dedication to providing high-quality patient care.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of the characteristics and precautions to be taken in the administration of
methadone- Good knowledge of the medications commonly prescribed to the client population served and related
psychiatric and medical terminology.
Good knowledge of the regulations governing the security, dispensing, disposal of and storage of
controlled substances.
- Good knowledge of supportive counseling practices.
- Good knowledge of the standards for record keeping related to medication dispensing.
- Good knowledge of the behavioral characteristics of individuals with substance abuse problems.
- Ability to accurately maintain client medical records and prepare reports.
- Ability to accurately maintain and monitor a methadone inventory.
- Ability to establish a rapport with clients.
- Good knowledge of the laws, guidelines, and legal procedures relating to mental health care or
substance abuse treatment to include HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Requirements : Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Virginia State Board of Nursing and one year of experience in the administration of medication or in a substance abuse treatment, psychiatric setting, or long-term care facility including the dispensing of narcotic medication.
Valid Driver's License.
Current H-NNCSB employees are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
