FutureReadyNYC (FRNYC) is the flagship initiative of the Adams-Banks administration to ensure students are prepared for strong careers in high growth high wage industries.
The Associate Director, -Project and Data Management, will be a key member of the FRNYC and the Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeship (CRMYA) teams driving the team towards goals and objectives aligned with annual planning milestones.
This role is crucial in planning, communicating, executing, and closing Pathways core programming projects efficiently and successfully.
This role is responsible for coordinating cross functional project teams, managing resources, and ensuring that FRNYC and CRMYA are meeting their goals and objectives within established timelines and resource considerations.
Through coordinated efforts with participating high schools, colleagues and leadership within Office of Student Pathways, intermediary organizations and other external partners, and specifically with the Career Connected Learning (CCL) team, the Associate Director, Project and Data Management will ensure the FRNYC and CRMYA teams have the progress monitoring tools and communications infrastructure to support schools in delivering high quality Career Connected Learning to all student populations and that students graduate with a head start, real skills and a plan towards long term economic security and a choice filled life. Key Relationships : works closely with other members of the Career Connected Learning Team, Office of Student Pathways leadership and teams, the Fund for Public Schools, and a wide variety of training providers, external employer partners, organized labor, and nonprofit organizations to successfully implement Student Pathways initiatives and programs.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning : Develops project plans, including goals, objectives, key results, timelines, in alignment with FRNYC’s and CRMYA’s strategic objectives to ensure successful delivery and implementation progress monitoring.
- Project Execution : Coordinates project activities, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This includes managing resources, timelines, and FRNYC and CRMYA project teams.
- Stakeholder Communication : Designs, maintains and implements an effective communication plan to support internal cohesion and external communication with school administrators, teachers, coordinators, counselors : Leads school facing communications channels to communicate on PL, deadlines, budget, and other critical components that will drive towards both knowledge sharing and goal achievement.
Represents the FRNYC and CRMYA teams in external communications planning, coordination and execution.
Data management , quality and progress monitoring : Alongside the Senior Directors for FRNYC, CRMYA, and Pathways Data team : Develops systems for effective data collection, management, and analysis to support FRNYC / CRMYA teams and schools with progress monitoring.
Monitors, ensures quality of, and analyzes information and data systems and evaluates their performance to discover ways of enhancing them while maintaining high standards of function and quality across these systems and tools.
Assists with reports and data extraction, when needed.Troubleshoots and resolves data-related problems, continually iterating on systems and tools to further improve their functionality.
- Collaboration : Collaborates with other teams within CCL and the larger Office of Student Pathways to manage and drive towards timely completion of the cross functional components of FRNYC and CRMYA.
- Communication & External Engagement : Oversees FRNYC / CRMYA communication efforts including : Plans and manages the design, content, and production of FRNYC / CRMYAs primary communication channels including the newsletter.
Supports in the creation and digitizing of content such as presentations, playbooks, one-pagers.Supports the FRNYC / CRMYA Senior Directors in working with external stakeholders in the development of annual planning, milestones, and project management to drive towards goal achievement.
Professional Learning : Supports the FRNYC and CRMYA professional learning community through the following actions : Prepares and delivers training for team members on project management and tools to progress monitor the effectiveness of these tools and systems.
Supports FRNYC Pathway Directors and CRMYA Senior Director in developing and implementing effective professional learning (PL), coaching, and technical assistance.
Annual & Strategic Planning : Works closely with the Senior Directors to develop annual FRNYC and CRMYA metrics to then inform continuous improvement of FRNYC / CRMYA program delivery and technical assistance for schools toward achieving overall office-wide goals Works with Office of Student Pathways Leadership and teams to support and ensure the effective planning and integration of workforce readiness strategies into high-priority and cross-divisional work, including effective project planning and coordination among NYCPS-wide teams.
Prepares internal reports for senior leadership, some of which include policy, evaluation, and implementation recommendations.
Risk Management : Identifies potential project risks and develops mitigation strategies to minimize project timelines and goal disruptions.
Qualification Requirements :
Minimum
A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, or a closely related field and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in budget administration, economic or financial administration, fiscal or economic research;
management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; educational, personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning / administration, labor market research, economic planning, fiscal management, or a related area, for educational program(s) and / or institution(s); or
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "1" above.
Preferred
- Excellent project design, management, execution and / or program evaluation experience.
- Proven experience as a data manager.
- Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution, etc.).
- Experience in developing and implementing Career Connected Learning specific training programs.
- Experience creating successful collaboration among diverse stakeholders using indirect authority.
- Prior leadership experience managing work-based learning, youth employment, advising, and / or Career and Technical Education programs and initiatives.
- Five or more years’ experience serving in a senior position in government, industry, nonprofit, or philanthropy, with significant responsibilities in partnership management.
- Deep understanding of youth employment and / or youth development issues.
- Familiarity with career-focused education and workforce development programs.
- Outstanding research and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under stringent deadlines and handle simultaneous assignments.
- Experience with data analytics, CRM software, modern database, and information system technologies.
- Website management and content development.
- Excellent computer skills; experience using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Salary : $103,446 - $107,000
Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
