Our client is a nationally respected litigation defense law firm with multiple offices across the United States. In addition to mass toxic torts, the firm also handles commercial disputes and liability-related defense.
The firm has an immediate opening for an associate attorney to join its general litigation practice group in Jersey City.
We are seeking a civil litigator with 3 to 5 years of experience. Successful candidates will have exceptional research, writing, and litigation skills, with the ability to manage a broad spectrum of civil cases.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Proactive case management from initiation to resolution in both state and federal courts.
- Drafting pleadings, written discovery, and dispositive motions.
- Conducting comprehensive legal analysis, case evaluations, and providing strategic recommendations.
- Taking depositions of key fact witnesses, including plaintiffs.
- Preparing case updates and managing client communications as needed.
- Collaborating with paralegals to ensure efficient case management.
Qualifications :
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to the New Jersey Bar; New York admission is a plus.
- 3-5 years of general litigation experience.
- Demonstrated ability and motivation to manage a caseload proactively from start to finish.
- Strong work ethic, self-management skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and contributing to client development.
