Job Summary : We’re looking for an experienced Senior Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and repair various systems in heavy and light-duty trucks, including diesel and gasoline engines.
This on-call role may also involve welding and fabrication.
Responsibilities :
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body components.
- Respond to road calls, manage dispatch, and communicate with managers and drivers about vehicle issues and preventive maintenance.
- Mount and dismount tires and wheel assemblies.
- Complete paperwork and assist with inventory management.
- Follow safety policies, maintain a clean work area, and conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Use diagnostic tools to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
Qualifications :
- Expertise in suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic system inspections, diagnosis, and repair.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools and service manuals.
- Ability to guide assistant technicians and shop helpers.
- Own tools up to 2 inches, including pneumatic and cordless specialty tools.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and reaching frequently.
- Capable of working in extreme temperatures and various weather conditions.
Certifications and Licenses :
- Valid Driver's License with a clean record.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Pre-employment drug screen and physical required.
- Brake Inspector Certification (or obtain within 90 days).
- DOT Inspector Certification and Air Conditioning Certification preferred.
