Position Summary

Brief Description of PSU / School / Dept : The Mark O. Hatfield Cybersecurity & Cyber Defense Policy Center is a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Research .

The center convenes scholars, managers, and policymakers from across Portland State University and beyond to train future leaders and translate research findings into effective policy.

We achieve these goals through multi-disciplinary, multi-sector, and multi-stakeholder curricular and research partnerships.

Position Summary : The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for organizing, establishing partnerships with high schools, community colleges, other Oregon universities, and administering the Cybercamps for the Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence as mandated under HB 2049.

The Senior Project Manager will supervise one to two graduate students and work closely with the Director of OCCOE and report to prepare regular reports on the cybercamps progress and budget.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • 4 years of administrative support experience in a fast-paced, higher education environment, including knowledge of HR / employment processes.
  • Professional communication skills as demonstrated through the letter of application and resume.
  • The position requires an individual who demonstrates a professional demeanor and exemplary skills in interpersonal and written communication, including drafting and editing with competencies in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google in a Macintosh / Windows environment.
  • Experience in prioritizing and managing projects and deadlines, professional experience in a team context, and the ability to initiate and proactively problem-solve are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work effectively in a quality management environment and sensitivity to persons of diverse backgrounds is essential.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills and experience.

Work Days / Hours

40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday - Friday, schedule to be determined.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement

Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band.

PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $64,488 and $81,844, but may be negotiated above this range, dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.

An excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.
