Service Technician- Direct Hire

$22 - $29 an hour - Full-time

    • This position requires skills in welding, grinding, fabrication, and electrical, in order to efficiently repair tank trailers in a world-class manner. This position also requires mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting experience, and inspection and communication abilities. This is a fast-paced but rewarding work environment and will require accountability while working together in teams. Pay Depends on Exp.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and Evaluate a tank quickly and accurately.
  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot material, mechanical, and electrical failures
  • Develop and coordinate a project work scope, complete with a task and parts list
  • Develop a project schedule, taking into consideration the tasks involved and the order in which these tasks need to be completed
  • Manage a project to a schedule efficiently, having the ability to recover from delays is required
  • Conduct routine and special inspections, as required.
  • Understand systems, with the ability to trace systems and install and commission complex components (engines, pumps, motors, blowers)
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing components.
  • Maintain schedule reports, repair logs, and other project documentation Develop and maintain positive, effective working relationships with internal customers and co-workers.

    • Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Vocational training or technical associate degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years in manufacturing and service
  • Ability to drive Semi truck is a plus
  • ASME certification is A plus
  • Able to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Able to troubleshoot, determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
  • Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Possess solid foundation of mechanical aptitude and ability
  • Solid welding and assembly skills required
  • Able to test tanks
  • Possess knowledge of brakes, airlines and trailer electrical systems
  • Possess basic hydraulic knowledge
  • Must be able to work safety and comply with DOT regulations
