The Department of Biochemistry & Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time, 9-month position of Lecturer.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach core undergraduate classes for majors and non-majors : BCMB 230 a large introductory course and laboratory on human physiology (Spring and Fall).

The position will supervise GTAs assigned to the course. Summer teaching is an option for additional pay. The Department offers B.

S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry & Cellular and Molecular Biology, providing a first-rate environment for engaging students and colleagues in collaborative research and teaching efforts.

Qualifications :

Minimal qualifications : 1) a Ph.D. in the area of Human Physiology with significant graduate coursework in these disciplines;

2) teaching experience in biology; and 3) a demonstrated interest in teaching and in implementing evidence-based best education practices for student success.

Preferred qualifications include the above, plus : 1) experience teaching large introductory lecture courses with laboratory;

2) experience with the development of a laboratory course; and 3) experience supervising and mentoring graduate teaching assistants.
