A&K Railroad Materials is a leading supplier of new and used railroad track materials. A&K has sales offices and a network of storage and distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States.
Together, these offices and inventory locations maintain an extensive and comprehensive inventory of track materials across the nation.

The CNC Technician position is located in our Kansas City, Kansas location.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose problems with CNC mills and lathes including electro-mechanical, operational, electrical / electronic and overall equipment problems.
- Troubleshoot, install, service, rebuild and perform maintenance as necessary.
- Analyze error codes and determine requirements for repair.
- Repair and replace drives as necessary.
- Recommend additional services or the purchase of additional equipment.
- Determine, order and replace parts as necessary.
- Locate and schedule outside technical assistance as required.

Requirements
- Experience with Siemens controllers
- Experience with G-code
- Experience on homing machine
- Experience with linear scales
- Ability to read wiring diagrams
- Experience with 3-axis and 5-axis Cincinnati profilers and mills
- CNC machine tool troubleshooting and repair experience
- Knowledge of changing spindles and ball screws
- Hands-on knowledge of volt meters, oscilloscopes and other test / measuring equipment
- Ability to read and understand direction and procedure manuals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with and maintain effective relationships
- Any experience with Servos, motion controls and PLC’s is a plus
