Purpose :

Keep the database up and running smoothly 24 / 7 and provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.

Use deep database experience to serve in a lead capacity, mentoring less-experienced team members and liaising internally with all levels of associates and technical leaders in the department.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex issues that may cross multiple technologies
  • Work on unusually complex problems and provide innovative solutions
  • Provide technical expertise for a variety of databases that serve as the foundation for critical enterprise systems
  • Evaluate and propose design and process improvements to achieve performance and cost optimization
  • Define users and enable data distribution to the right users, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
  • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
  • Assist application development and quality assurance staff in the development of database architectures, coding standards and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Design and implement redundant systems, policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity.
  • Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
  • Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems.
  • Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems

Knowledge & Skills

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to contribute to strategic planning and technical direction
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and influence peers and senior-level associates
  • SQL Server Certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Experience in SQL Server 2016 is required.
  • Ability to perform SQL Server backup and recovery options is required.
  • Background in SQL and Server turning is required.
  • Windows Servers / Systems knowledge is required.
  • Experience in SSRS is required.
  • Working Knowledge of Database Architecture Design and Best Practices is required.
  • Experience with transactional and / or data warehouse practices.
  • Advanced database programming skills required (SQL, TSQL, PL / SQL, other).
  • Experience in Oracle 10g or 11g Server Setup / Maintenance is required.
  • Ability to perform RMAN backup, recovery, and duplication is a plus.
  • Linux / Unix Servers / System knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Project and interdisciplinary coordination skills.
  • Basic knowledge of business analysis, business knowledge and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of Application SDLC is needed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and clearly communicate problems and severity issues is required.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. Degree requirements may be waived with significant related and demonstrable work experiences.
  • Minimum of five years of experience demonstrating mastery of core technologies
