Job Location

San Diego, CA. On-site, with possible occasional / part-time telecommuting. Minimal domestic travel required, 15% of time and the opportunity for international travel, 5% of the time.

Job Description

GALT Aerospace is looking for a Systems Engineer Integration and Test (SEIT) to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role supporting the integration and test of networked communication systems.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the following :

• Develop and maintain technical documentation which includes test plans and procedures
• Develop configurations to support tests and prototypes of developing systems
• Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documentation
• Conduct systems and sub-systems testing
• Review and provide feedback on system specifications, development, test, and network documents
• Install and configure Windows / Linux servers
• Set up and maintain DNS / Exchange / Active Directory
• Maintain virtual environments
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain network gear to include switches, servers, firewalls, etc. and troubleshoot network related problems
• Capture and deploy system images

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

• 4+ years of experience with testing, networking, or other IT related fields
• Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) computer and radio systems
• Working knowledge of routing, switching, protocols, VLANs, IP subnetting, LAN, WAN, etc
• Must possess high proficiency in Linux and Windows
• Must have a high-level understanding of automation and implementation.
• US Citizenship required with a minimum of an active Interim Secret clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education

• Working knowledge on network security devices (e.g. firewall, NGFW, IPS, IDS)
• Working knowledge on event management systems (e.g. ISE, Splunk, SolarWinds)
• Tactical Data Link familiarity (e.g. CDL, TTNT, L-16, SADL, etc.)
• Live field testing, experience with military communication systems highly desired
• Automation, scripting, or other development experience in either Python or JavaScript
• Knowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments is highly desired
• Experience developing scripts in ansible is desired
• Demonstrate knowledge in using various testing methodologies Agile and Scrum and logging results using solutions such as JIRA and or Confluence
• Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to carry 50 pounds
• Must be able to sit or stand for 8 hours at a time
• Climb / descend, work atop, and traverse certain machinery

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role.

The base pay range for this role is between $109,000-$145,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
