Job Summary :
Bay Colony Search has been retained to hire a CFO for a small, but growing, industrial manufacturer in Baltimore. The company has started to expand across the US & has a new product that is already making waves and could surpass their original product in the next couple of years.
You will report to the President and will be a strategic partner to him and the private equity sponsor. This is a smaller company with just one other person in Accounting / Finance so you must be both strategic and tactical; that means you will be making journal entries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for month end close functions of the company by preparing journal entries and performing quarterly balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare and maintain annual budgets and multi-year forecast and perform analysis of budget / forecast variances and financial trendsEnsure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reportingMonitor financial covenants of in debt agreements, prepare quarterly compliance reports, and maintain current lender relationshipsResponsible for daily cash activities and capital distributionsManage annual financial audit which includes developing audit schedule, ensuring required documentation is prepared in a timely manner, and interacting with the auditorsPresent financials to Board on a quarterly basisPartner with other leaders in the business to develop and implement process improvements and new technologies to create a more efficient accounting departmentEvaluate potential acquisitions and assist with integration if one is completedQualifications
Bachelor’s degree mandatory and Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred8+ years of accounting and finance experience and must have worked for a small company of less than $30MMix of accounting and FP&A experienceWillingness, and more importantly, desire to be part of a smaller companyHave worked at a manufacturing companyIdeally will have experience working for a private equity backed businessCapable of being a strategic partner to the CEOStrong communication skills with the ability to present to a BoardShould have ERP implementation experienceThis is an onsite role - no remote and no hybrid. Base salary, bonus, and equity will be offered to the right candidate.
