The result of a couple guys who love good food and cold drinks, Duke's Grocery is a neighborhood pub and supper spot located in the Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom, and Navy Yard areas of Washington, D.
C., with a Duke's Counter sister location in Woodley Park / National Zoo.
The idea is simple : create a fun spot that our friends (you!) can come in anytime and have a fulfilling meal, a tasty drink and great time in an atmosphere that is unpretentious and laid back.

Assistant General Manager :
Seeking hospitality professionals that take pride in making our restaurants not only fulfilling places to dine in but also work within.
Someone who is enthusiastic, quick thinking, solution oriented, an over communicator and most importantly, motivating. We believe you should enjoy coming to work while becoming a part of the neighborhoods we serve.
Responsibilities include mentoring and empowering our front and back of house staff, managing day to day restaurant operations, supporting the General Manager and guest relations.
Other Responsibilities :
- Ensuring operational areas of FOH & BOH are managed to the company’s standards
- Hold all employees accountable while adhering to company operational procedures
- Understand and use financial indictors to measure productivity
- Effectively hire, train schedule and develop staff according to team and business needs
- Respond to all guest and staff communications / feedback in a effective and timely manner
- Effectively use and operate all necessary tools, utensils, equipment and software (restaurant management software, etc.)
Minimum of 1 year of Manager experience in a high-volume neighborhood restaurant with significant private event experience : 200-400 covers per day, 3 - 6M+ in annual sales.
Must have a flexible work schedule (includes weekends brunch, lunch and dinner) and reliable transportation.
