Ultrasonographer - Ultrasound
The Pediatric Sonographer schedules and performs diagnostic procedures utilizing various ultrasound and related equipment.
The Sonographer provides services supporting the Radiology Mission of high quality, efficient care, and emphasis on serving the unique needs of each patient.
Schedule : (Full-Time, Benefits Eligible)
- 3 X 12
- Variable Weekdays from 10 : 30 am to 11 : 00 pm
- One Weekend a month from 9 : 30 am to 10 : 00 pm
- Call and Holiday responsibilities required.

Responsibilities
- Prepares patients and procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines and policies. Represents the department's customer service focus for all contacts.
- Utilizes training and knowledge to modify orders, prepares documentation for procedures, manipulates imaging data prescribed, reviews images for accuracy, and initiates networking of equipment.
- Operates, maintains, and programs varied imaging equipment. Utilizes electronic information devices, determines correct anatomic area for imaging, adjusts equipment factors as necessary, and assists Radiologists or other physicians in ultrasound guided interventional procedures.
- Assists in collecting and monitoring QA projects within the section. Mentors and monitors new employees or rotating students.
- Performs procedures for research and testing. Assists in documenting and maintaining research information. Maintains knowledge of current applications in the field through seminars, educational programs, and self-study.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
Education Requirement :
Graduate of an accredited school for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or ARRT sonography certified, required.
Licensure Requirement :
- Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in ABD, and OB, or ARRT (S)
- Registered in Vascular (RVT or ARRT (VS) within 18-24 months of hire date.
Certifications :
Possess a valid BLS certification.
Skills :
High level of communication and organizational skills, required.
Experience :
Previous experience in a pediatric ultrasound setting, preferred.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- OCCASIONALLY : 1-33% OF THE TIME (0.5 TO 2.5 HOURS) Climb stairs / Ladders. Driving required. Exposed to loud noises.
