Matrix Providers is hiring afull-time Physician Assistant to provide family practice care to our Navy and their families at the Naval Health Clinic located in Newport, RI.

  • Role : Medical Homeport Clinic Full-time Employee
  • Schedule : Monday to Friday 7 : 30am to 4 : 30pm 40 hours per week No nights No weekends No on-call
  • Salary : $65 / hour (negotiable) $135,200 salary
  • $5,000 Sign-On Bonus & Relocation Bonus

Period of Performance : Current Government contract ends September 2026, with possible contract renewal.

Physician Assistant minimum qualifications :

  • Degree : Bachelor's degree.
  • Education : Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • Certification : Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Experience : As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
  • Licensure : Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant .

Job Summary :

  • Technically direct and provide care for various diseases and types of injuries (, acute, chronic, and minor trauma). The skills to recognize emergency conditions, diagnose, prescribe for, and treat diseases, disorders, and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and severe conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform the designated treatment.
  • Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF (, supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any organ systems;

provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).

  • Technically direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and participate in in-service training for staff members.
  • Promote preventive care and health maintenance, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care through formal and individual education and counseling.
  • Prescribe by approved treatment protocols and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee-approved medications and immunizations.
  • Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices and procedures by the scope of practice.
  • Establish collaborative rapport with physicians, nursing, and others to promote and facilitate primary care services.
  • Teach patients and family members healthy regimens and responsibility for achieving wellness.
  • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.
