The California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) is seeking an effective facilitator and collaborator to join our Technical Assistance team in serving K12 school districts in the Central Ca.

The Technical Assistance Manager role supports K12 partner districts to effectively bring students' high school transcript data to CaliforniaColleges.

The California College Guidance Initiative serves as the State's official technical assistance provider for supporting K12 school districts in aligning "a-g" courses from their local systems with the UCOP Course Management Portal (CMP) database that is used to determine students' California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) eligibility.

The Technical Assistance Manager supports K-12 school districts / LEAs in improving the accuracy of transcript data and reconciling issues with CMP.

They also provide guidance on how to address issues affecting the data-informed functionality on CaliforniaColleges.edu that impact student accounts.

The ideal Technical Assistance Manager has meaningful experience in coaching students, families, and / or educators on the "a-g" requirements for CSU and UC admission and making recommendations on which classes students should take based on their unique situations, abilities, and goals.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Work with K-12 school district / LEA leadership that oversees counseling, career pathways, and CMP management.
  • Apply content expertise to make recommendations to K-12 school districts / LEAs about how to improve the quality of their transcript data, including reconciliation of discrepancies between local course listings and course listings in CMP.
  • Support the development and facilitation of external meetings related to course clean-up and CMP alignment.
  • Provide strategic direction to K-12 school districts / LEAs to drive the resolution of transcript-informed data issues that impact student accounts on CaliforniaColleges.edu.
  • Analyze and replicate transcript-informed issues and create cases in Salesforce to ensure resolution.
  • Actively contribute to a data-driven culture on the Technical Assistance team using processes that include a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of resources to quickly fulfill requests for technical assistance and resolve tickets related to data-informed functionality on CaliforniaColleges.

  • Work collaboratively with other Technical Assistance Managers to prioritize and resolve cases in Salesforce.
  • Daytime travel and in-person attendance at events and meetings, as needed. Ability to operate a personal vehicle for CCGI business and possess a current, valid California driver's license and insurance and a clean driving record.

All mileage is reimbursable.

What Technical Skills Do You Need?

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, in lieu of a degree, 3+ years of relevant experience may suffice. At least three years of experience working with K-12 California high school transcript data
  • Familiarity with UC and CSU "a-g" undergraduate eligibility requirements, preferably via directly supporting students.
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred, or similar Customer Relationship Management tool.

The California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) works to ensure that all 6th-12th grade students in California have access to a systematic baseline of guidance and support as they plan, prepare, and pay for postsecondary education and training.

This baseline is provided by CaliforniaColleges.edu, which provides California students and educators with a wide range of college and career planning information and tools.

The site also houses, audits, and transmits student data to help ensure more accurate and efficient decisions regarding admissions, financial aid, and course placement.

CCGI provides technical assistance, support, and training to K-12 school districts in order to support students, counselors, and parents with the systematic use of CaliforniaColleges.

edu, including its transcript-informed tools.

CCGI serves 59.6% of California students, and we are slated to scale statewide in the coming years through the California Cradle-to-Career Data System.

We are all located in various parts of California and make use of tools, such as ZOOM, Slack, and Salesforce, to communicate and document our work.

While some people regularly travel locally and / or statewide for required business meetings, we only occasionally conduct internal meetings in person.

CCGI is housed at the Foundation for California Community Colleges but is an autonomous initiative with its own mission, goals, and executive leadership team.

The salary range for this position is : $75,000-$95,000.
