Job Description : Special Education Teacher
Location : Pflugerville, Texas
Position Overview :
We are searching for a dedicated and innovative Special Education Teacher to join our team in Pflugerville, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide tailored instructional support to students with special needs, promoting their academic, social, and emotional growth.
Core Responsibilities :
- Create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
- Adapt and modify teaching materials to acmodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to enhance student success.
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and track their progress regularly.
- Deliver specialized instruction in both small group and one-on-one settings.
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Employ a variety of teaching methods and techniques to engage students in learning.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of student progress and municate regularly with parents and guardians.
- Stay up-to-date with special education laws, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in Special Education (EC-12).
- Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
Licensure and Certification Requirements :
- Texas Educator Certification in Special Education (EC-12).
- Additional certification in a core subject area (e.g., Math, English Language Arts) may be necessary depending on the assignment.
- pletion of required Texas Education Agency (TEA) training and professional development.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
