The Job environment

The ServiceNow Core Platform teams provide the tools, framework, processes, guidelines and controls that are to be used by a large number of ServiceNow Product Delivery Engineering teams.

Job Summary

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the technology solutions department, you'll shape the technology solutions that promote strategic initiatives across the firm.

In addition to leading the development team to create new solutions, you'll help optimize existing technology and identify new capabilities.

While your role requires deep technological skills including expertise in everything from data management to functional design it also hinges on teamwork and leadership.

You'll offer clear guidance and feedback to your colleagues, while promoting the values, culture and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with your many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of high-quality solutions
  • Create technical roadmaps and milestones
  • Collaborate with the Business Analysis team for producing estimates and agile delivery plans.
  • Follow and enhance the scrum practices for continuous team processes improvement
  • Managing work assignments within the team
  • Guiding and inspiring the team through technical issues and challenges
  • Mentor junior developers on their growth as professionals (technical and soft skills)

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification on JavaScript and AngularJS concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines. Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices developing in the ServiceNow platform or proven ability to learn a new platform quickly.

Experience should span writing custom widgets, tool navigation, configuration and scripting

  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow data model (including task hierarchy, CMDB, user, groups and roles, data relationships) or other relevant data modeling exposure.
  • Experience implementing business rules and scripts, including client scripts, fix scripts and schedule jobs
  • Experience implementing inbound and outbound API integrations (REST)
  • Experience implementing the Service Portal on ServiceNow
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical formats
  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
