Position Summary
The Project Manager Assistant is responsible for assisting in the preparation and execution of approved residential interior remodel projects.
Remodel projects are expected to stay within budget, timeline and according to Company core values and standards of work.
You will assist in procuring fixtures and finishes for projects, keeping project cost documented, visiting project sites frequently, assisting lead Project Manager as needed, occasional trade assistance, and professional communication with homeowners and fellow team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Aid client in fixture and finish selection, ordering, and maintaining record of project material arrivals at warehouse managing returns and re-orders when necessary.
- Manage smaller multi-trade projects.
- Source subcontractor trades as necessary, vet for approved use by Company, schedule, review and approve all work.
- Frequent presence on site is required. Verify code compliance and Company standards of execution are acceptable in all phases of project.
- Obtain approval on project design changes by Change Order.
- Develop or implement policies, standards, and procedures for work.
- Perform administrative functions, such as reviewing or writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, or purchasing of materials or services.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change; manage the process of innovative change effectively.
- Effective project management : apply company methodology, enforce standards, minimize exposure to risk and ensure completion and accurate storage of finished projects.
- Communicate relevant project information to appropriate parties, resolve and / or escalate issues in a timely fashion. Troubleshooting and resolving problems.
- Inspire internal trades to attain goals and pursue excellence.
- Participate in development opportunities including training.
- Track project progress including areas / people where we excel and areas needing improvement, schedule after-project review meetings with key staff.
Own post-project metrics and present solutions for improvement.
- Expect hands on assistance when needed at project sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Prior trade-based project management experience of over 2 years
- Knowledge of building and trade codes as they apply to interior remodeling projects.
- Pleasant and confident demeanor when dealing with colleagues and clients
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write
- Efficient and well organized
- Proficiency with calendar and software systems
- Ability to communicate difficult / sensitive information tactfully
