Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator - Level IV to oversee and manage our data center operations.
This role involves advanced system administration, performance monitoring, security enforcement, disaster recovery planning, incident management, and leadership of a team of system administrators.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data center management, project leadership, and continuous improvement of data center operations.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee the operations of data centers to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Manage and maintain data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and software.
- Perform advanced system administration tasks, including configuration, deployment, and maintenance of complex systems and applications.
- Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable to meet organizational needs.
- Continuously monitor system performance and resource utilization to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Implement performance tuning and optimization techniques to enhance system efficiency.
- Enforce security policies and procedures to protect data center resources and information.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with agency standards.
- Develop and implement robust backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Regularly test and update recovery procedures to ensure effectiveness.
- Utilize incident management tools (., MHS ServiceNow) to track, manage, and resolve incidents related to data center operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed documentation of data center configurations, changes, and incidents.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on data center performance, issues, and resolutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of system administrators, providing guidance and support on complex tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with other IT teams to ensure integrated support for all data center operations.
- Manage and oversee data center projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Stay updated with the latest data center technologies and best practices.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the performance, security, and reliability of data center operations.
Qualifications
Required
One or more of the following certifications (IAT III)CASP+ CE
CCNP Security
CISA
CISSP (or Associate)
GCED
GCIH
CCSP
- CE : Professional (expert preferred) level certificate for supported technology
- Eight (8) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
- Master’s degree and / or equivalency.
- Secret Clearance.
