THE UNIT :
Allegheny General's Hospital Operations
- Provides leadership and support to all patient care units through the coordination of staffing resources, patient flow and bed utilization.
- This role prioritizes the placement of patients across the hospital based on clinical need and in accordance with capacity and staffing availability.
- Provides clinical direction and patient placement oversight to hospital operations staff.

GENERAL OVERVIEW :
This job functions as administrative liaison between staff, patients, physicians, families, other hospital departments, and outside agencies.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Has authority and responsibility for administrative decisions and appropriate notification of the administrator on call, Legal Dept and / or Risk Management when appropriate.
- Serves as a resource person in dealing with complex or complicated patients. Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
- Facilitates patient flow, identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care, ensures resources are utilized appropriately and in a cost effective manner.
- Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures of the facility and with all regulatory requirements.
- GENERAL OVERVIEW :
QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum
Minimum
- 3 years recent nursing experience
- Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- CPR - American Heart Association
