Focus Factory Manager– Aftermarket Service and Retail Distribution

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Focus Factory Manager (FFM)- Aftermarket Service and Retail Distribution is a critical leadership role within Gilbarco North America’s manufacturing facility.

This role drives critical metrics around safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and inventory. A focus factory manager sets direction based on customer delivery requirements and drives his / her team to meet these requirements.

They are responsible for all activities within the focus factory that affects the success of the Company and customer satisfaction.

The Focus Factory Manager (FFM) Aftermarket Service and Retail Distribution is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production processes within a specific segment of our factory.

This role ensures efficient operations, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. The FFM will implement lean manufacturing principles, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and lead a cross-functional team to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe working environment for all associates and drive to eliminate any environmental, health, and safety incidents.
• Identify, implement, and track both long and short term strategies that ensure positive results in the areas of financial performance, manufacturing excellence, materials management, and inventory control.
• Determine and monitor the overall resource capacity (personnel and equipment) for the focus factory and set priorities to maintain production expectations.
• Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and optimize productivity.
• Monitor performance metrics, including production rates, quality levels, and downtime, and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure that the quality systems for the focus factory are developed and sustained to ensuring our Customers receive the highest quality product possible.
• Ensure that production goals are being met around KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity) all while maintaining cost competitiveness.
• Act as a role model to Company personnel and be recognized as a leader.
• Assess, identify, and implement technological advancements.
• Drive continuous improvement activities utilizing lean manufacturing principles and tools.
• Communicate with appropriate outside sources to provide resolutions to customer and company questions and concerns, production process effectiveness, and other quality related issues as they arise.
• Other duties as assigned.

Relationships

• This position reports directly to Head of Operations Greensboro
• This position provides leadership to material planners, production team leaders, quality tollgate operators, engineers and assembly personnel reporting directly to it.
• This position interacts with the plant’s Quality Manager, Materials Manager, EHS director, Finance, Human Resources, and other Focus Factory Managers on a daily basis.
• This position will interact directly with Customer Service Representatives and Service Personnel on a daily basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
• Experience working in a parts distribution "Pick / Pack / Ship" environment highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
