Introduction
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) where you will play a pivotal role in providing critical care to patients with complex, lifethreatening conditions.

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to establish patient care needs in the ICU.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor their effects on the patient.
- Perform advanced medical procedures as necessary, such as intubation, central line placement, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Monitor patient progress and respond to any changes in status, acting quickly to address complications.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
- Operate and monitor life support equipment and other medical devices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all care provided and significant observations.
- Educate patients and their families on the patient's condition, treatment plan, and recovery process.
- Ensure strict adherence to ICU and hospital protocols and practices to maintain patient safety and quality of care.
- Participate in rounds and communicate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the critical care experience.
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff and nursing students.
- Engage in continuous professional development to keep up with advancements in critical care nursing practices.
- Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the ICU.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste and sharps to maintain a safe environment.
Job Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wyoming
- BSN or MSN degree from an accredited nursing program
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification may be required for certain positions
- Critical care certification (CCRN) is preferred but not required
- Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical skills with a focus on patient safety and quality of care
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina to perform the duties of the position, including lifting patients and standing for long periods
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
