All for Health, Health for All, Inc. (AFH) has been dedicated to providing healthcare services to the medically underserved and indigent community for more than four decades.

AFH is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center and a certified Patient-Centered Medical Home with a mission to address healthcare access disparities among the diverse multi-ethnic population of California and Nevada States.

Our services include general family practice, pediatric care, mental health, behavioral health services, and adult day healthcare.

Last year alone, we assisted over 50,000 patients through more than 90,000 visits across various clinic locations. Our success in delivering comprehensive and integrated care lies in our model that prioritizes continuity and coordination of care for all patients during their disease management.

AFH is currently looking for a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our team at the newly established clinic in Laguna Niguel.

This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to actively engage with patients and our dedicated care team.

Compensation : $19 - $24 hourly

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare exam rooms before patient appointments
  • Assist the provider during medical procedures
  • Maintain accurate and legible patient records, including history and triage information, in compliance with state regulations
  • Clean and restock exam rooms and sterilize equipment
  • Inform patients of lab results, imaging results, and medication refills over the phone
  • Coordinate patient care and participate in training and quality improvement activities
  • Ensure proper documentation on referrals for team awareness and patient safety
  • Verify demographic and insurance information during patient registration
  • Gather patient clinical background and referral needs information
  • Liaise with review organizations and insurance companies for prior approval requirements
  • Educate patients on referral details and expectations
  • Assist patients in resolving healthcare system issues and insurance coverage problems
  • Identify and utilize community resources suitable for patient populations
  • Address referrals promptly and efficiently
  • Demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, leadership skills, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

  • Completion of approved and suitable training recognized by the Medical Board of California is required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential
  • Previous experience in pediatric care is preferred
  • Willingness to collaborate with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and health conditions is necessary
  • The ability to maintain a positive demeanor when interacting with patients and colleagues, especially in challenging situations, is crucial
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently is a must
  • Proficiency in English communication (speaking, understanding, writing, and typing), basic math and spelling skills are needed
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is mandatory
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 codes and EMR System is advantageous
