A day in the life
- You will be writing code to bring new features to power various Alexa experiences.
- You will work with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers. Quality Assurance and Developers on a daily basis.
- You will support the software you created to ensure it is of high quality and reliable.
- You will work with sister teams and other teams at Amazon to build consensus and get alignment.
- You will enjoy great BBQ in team events. We are split between Austin and Seattle. Your choice!
About the team
The mission of the Alexa Assistant is to make Alexa the world’s best personal assistant by turning customer’s mobile devices into their most powerful, portable Echo.
To accomplish our mission, we aim to develop new avenues to interact with Alexa, create an easy to integrate Alexa core capabilities and create unique experiences tailored to a mobile device.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
