Summary :

The Certified Pharmacy Technician provides support to the pharmacist by reviewing, compounding and dispensing medications.

All work is carried out in a pharmacuetical warehouse setting under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.

Responsibilities :

• Fulfills medication and supply orders for distribution to hospitals and clinics within and / or affiliated with the health-system.
• Staffs for a minimum of one full weekend (Saturday & Sunday) per month.
• Coordinates shipments to customers utilizing multiple couriers and shipment pathways and ensures compliance with temperature requirements (i.

e; cold chain, room temperature).

Documents pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, quality control requirements, etc. using automated and paper systems.

Ensures accuracy of data.

• Responds to and triages requests from customers for assistance with pharmacy distribution or compounding services.
• Utilizes automated dispensing technology and related computer software to fulfill customer orders.
• Receives, restocks, and rotates inventory, and completes expiration date management.
• Contributes to process improvement projects.
• Participates in regulatory compliance inspection and documentation of medication storage areas.

Education Requirements :

None required as long as other position qualifications are met. Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program preferred.

Licensure / Certification Requirements :

• Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
• CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program.

Professional Experience Requirements :

• Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
• Inventory management experience is preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / and Abilities Requirements :

• Requires standing for extended periods (most of an 8-hour shift).
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Must be able to reach over head to access shelved product.
