FT Veterinary Pharmacy Staff - VCA Madera

VCA Madera Pet Hospital, an 8-10 DVM hospital, is hiring for our Pharmacy Department. We have 3 full timers in our pharmacy whose time is devoted exclusively to processing, filling, and handing to clients refills and new scripts posted during exams or procedures.

This is an ideal position for an experienced veterinary technician / assistant who is looking to step back from their traditional role, but we are also willing to train the right candidate .

If you are highly detail-oriented and are comfortable with talking to clients, you could be that candidate!

Tasks include :

• Filling prescriptions : outside (online pharmacies, human pharmacies), in-house refills, and new scripts.
• Submitting prescriptions for DVM approval.
• Handling controlled substances (VACSP permit eligibility required).
• Using EMR to review records, enter scripts, enter charges, etc.
• Inventory management.
• Client education / communication.
