Assurance Senior, Accounting Advisory & Outsourcing

Job Description

Job Summary :

The Accounting & Reporting Advisory Senior Associate is responsible for understanding complex accounting and reporting matters and assisting companies with the proper application of accounting standards for both public and private companies.

This role assists companies with the implementation of new accounting standards, as well as other accounting and reporting related projects.

The Senior Associate assists with training on accounting and reporting related matters, both internally to BDO personnel as well as to external clients.

Job Duties :

• Applies technical knowledge to develop, administer, and deliver training courses or presentation materials
• Defines training goals
• Supervises course development or updating, and evaluating courses
• Facilitates training courses, and evaluates course / presentation effectiveness based on participant and presenter feedback
• Researches complex auditing and reporting problems, and communicates to clients in both written and verbal format
• Designs tools and templates for use on ARAS engagements
• Assists in the development of Thought Leadership pieces, conference calls and live presentations for clients and prospective clients
• Applies relevant GAAP, GAAS, SEC, PCAOB and other applicable or emerging regulations and standards, and the BDO Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct
• Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities :

Provides verbal and written performance reviews to Assurance associates

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or Economics, required; OR
• Bachelor's degree in other focus area AND CPA certification, required
• Master's in Accountancy, preferred

Experience :

• Two (2) or more years of experience in public accounting and / or relevant industry experience, required
• Supervisory experience, preferred

License / Certifications :

CPA, preferred

Software :

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, preferred
• Proficient in accounting research databases, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

• Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently and within a group environment
• Solid understanding of and proficiency in accounting standards and reporting requirements for public companies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong knowledge of GAAP

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

California Range : $80,000 - $95,000

Colorado Range : $80,000 - $95,000

NYC / Long Island / Westchester Range : $80,000 - $95,000

Washington Range : $80,000 - $95,000
