Today we are hiring A Supervisor Of Payroll for our clientIn Federal Way WA. This is a healthcareindustry.
This position providessupervision to the payroll team to ensure timely and accuratepayment and reporting for a multistate payroll special payrollssuch as severance pay and some bonuses.
Position also reviewsmetrics and audit controls for compliance.
This position works closely with other teams within thePayroll department and across the organization and participates inyearend Payroll functions as well as exercises knowledge of Payrolltax and law in daily work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees the daily operation of payroll according toestablished written processes procedures and standards includingbut not limited to large bonus processing and yearendreporting.
- Oversee biweekly payrollprocessing.
- Ensures that alldeadlines are met including the processing and review ofestablished audit reports and coordination with the Payroll SupportTeam for system maintenance and schedules.
- Enforces cutoff time for payroll processing.
- Reviews payroll protocols and proceduresincluding but not limited to manual checks on cycle payrollprocessing and time clock records.
- Works with the Payroll Support Team on biweeklyProcessing Worksheets and SOX documents.
- Ensures appropriate backup documentation for biweeklypayroll by the processing division.
- Trains andimplements process improvements for the PayrollCoordinators.
- Recommends changes to createefficiencies and enhance performance of Payroll Department toManager and / or Director.
- Develops andmaintains close relationships and open communication with all areasof payroll and field locations.
- Performsrandom reviews for adherence to coordinator desk organization andmaintenance with special emphasis on department standards capturingmetrics and providing feedback.
- Develops researches and maintains current knowledge ofregulatory issues affecting Payroll.

- Provideleadership to direct reports.
- Knowsunderstands implements follows and communicates to teammates allcompany employment policies and procedures awards and otheropportunities within company and foster a positive workenvironment.
- Ensures all companyemployment processes are completed timely and in compliance withthe company policy and any applicable laws including but notlimited to ePCNs Performance Development Reviews teammate personnelfile maintained etc.
- Facilitatesteammate development.
- Maintains familiaritywith and communicate to teammates The company programs impactingteammates.
- Manages all teammateemployment activity including but not limited to hiring promotingjob performance evaluations and disciplinary actions withappropriate approvals as required
- Reports performance metrics to PayrollManager.
- Addresses teammaterelations issues appropriately and escalate to Manager asnecessary.
- Provideswork direction for department teammates.
- Understands basic wage and hour laws federal state andlocal laws and regulations and legislation affectingemployment.
- Reviews andapproves time cards of direct reports for biweeklypayroll.
- Develops andconducts educational programs to keep teammates uptodate on thecompany policies new laws and regulations impacting work and otherinformation necessary to maintain teammates knowledge of departmentprocesses and goals.
- Maintains andcommunicates facility emergency management programs and ability toact swiftly confidently in an emergency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education licenses certifications and experiencerequired to fulfill the essential duties include computer skills asrequired.
- High schooldiploma or equivalent required
- Bachelorsdegree in related area preferred
- Minimum ofthree (3) years payroll experience in a multistate multiEINenvironment required including :
- Demonstrated ability to apply relevant laws and processesaccurately and with sound judgment in varying situations
- Demonstrated working knowledge of payroll processesprocedures systems in a highvolume fast paced productionenvironment
- Demonstrated ability to maintaincompliance with payroll laws and regulations regarding taxationgarnishments overtime etc
- CPP (Certified PayrollProfessional) designation preferred
- Two (2) tofour (4) years payroll and supervisory related experiencerequired
- Intermediate computer skills andproficiency in MS Word and Outlook required; intermediateproficiency in largescale electronic payroll system required;
workday experience preferred; PeopleNet experience preferred;advanced skills and proficiency in MS Excel required; basicproficiency in PowerPoint strongly preferred
- Experience with process flowredesign / improvements
- Ability to meet goalsindividually and in a teammate environment
- Demonstrated aptitude for effective delegation andcoordination skills
- Proven ability to motivateothers in order to achieve tasks and goals
- Demonstrated aptitude to effectively handle teammateinterpersonal situations
