Certification Details
- Required Certifications include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- TNCC is preferred.
- Active AZ license or compact license.
Job Details
- THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
- The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience.
- Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed.
- Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage.
- Flexibility is a must.
- Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
- There is also a pass / fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).
- COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.
Job Requirements
- EXPERIENCE must also include EITHER neuro or CV.
- UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position.
- RNs required to titrate drips.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills
- Charge Nurse roles include duties without taking patients.
Schedule Information
- Self scheduling.
- Manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.
- 3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule, Nightshift weekends are Friday - Saturday. Dayshift are Saturday - Sunday.
- May have 1 holiday off in an assignment.
- No additional call / standby shifts required.
- May be low censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs.
Unit Specific Information
- Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery
- Medical ICU - Medical Cardiac + Overflow
- CVICU- Various procedures.
- No monitor techs on unit, RN required to interpret own strip.
- RT in ICU 24 / 7
- Dress Code : Navy
- Unit / Department specific orientation of 1-2 days.
Additional Details
- Will validate skills for trauma, neuro and speciality devices as needed.
- Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs.
- Okay with first time traveler, however must have 3 years experience (with 2 of those years in the ICU).
- Level 1 experience or neuro experience not required but preferred.
- Prefer prior experience work at a similar size unit ICU.
