We are dedicated to ensuring quality patient care and fostering professional growth for our healthcare professionals.Job Description : We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery (L&D) team.
This role involves providing exceptional care to patients in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The L&D unit features 9 beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, and 7 triage beds, with an average of 9 births per day.Key Responsibilities :
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients from 28 weeks gestation and above, including high-risk cases such as hypertension and patients without prenatal care.
- Conduct vaginal exams, start IVs, draw blood, and perform scalp electrode placement.
- Circulate during C-sections and assist with newborn transitions, including APGAR scoring.
- Collaborate with anesthesiology for epidurals and other procedures.
- Manage postpartum hemorrhage and participate in simulation labs for ongoing training.
- Administer and titrate drips, including magnesium, Pitocin, insulin, and blood products.
- Ensure adherence to AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios, typically 1 : 1 or 1 : 2.
- Utilize tele monitoring systems and provide care in coordination with OB techs and other support staff.
- Participate in daily safety huddles and collaborate with OB, midwives, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists who are in-house 24 / 7.
- Float to NICU, Pediatrics, Women's Health, MedSurg, or ICU as needed, with appropriate patient assignments.Qualifications :
- Current and valid RN license in AZ.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery.
- Must be proficient in performing vaginal exams, circulating C-sections, and managing newborn transitions.
- Required certifications : BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced.
- Preferred experience with "spinning babies" techniques and water birth knowledge.
- Ability to titrate various drips and manage equipment such as BVM-neonates and T-Piece resuscitators.
- Proficiency in using CPN Centricity EFM system.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with other clinicians and providers.
