Under the direction of the Chief of Plant Operations I, perform skilled work as a Locksmith; and to do other related work.
Work with supervisor and vendors to set up criteria for evaluating security and door hardware. Make recommendations to the supervisor on the most economical and effective materials and equipment to maintain the hospital's security and hardware systems.
Make recommendations on the appropriateness of equipment proposed for use at the hospital. Setup and maintain master keying progression for all lock hardware.
Review A&E construction documents to ensure hardware specifications are compatible with the hospital's existing systems.
Maintain combination locks, cylinder locks, mortise locks, and padlocks. Open locks, change lock combinations, make keys, stamp keys, and evaluate materials and tools.
Issue and maintain the security of duplicate keys. Maintain records on key codes and employees. Maintain records of materials in stock.
Install and repair door closers, door checks, doorknobs, casement operators, and door strikes.
