POSITION TITLE : Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY :

Responsible Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Supports accounting monthly close with assigned financial statement preparation, account reconciliation and maintenance of supporting schedules.

Ensures compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Promotes the company’s mission and philosophy.

REPORTS TO : CONTROLLER

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

Accounting Support

• Participates in the monthly close, preparing financial statements for assigned entities.
• Prepares Journal Entries as needed.
• Prepares bank reconciliations as part of closing financials.
• Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliation for assigned accounts and entities.
• Maintains schedule for Prepaid Expenses.
• Prepares, Maintains quarterly Capital purchases for investor compliance reporting.
• Other duties to support the accounts payable team as assigned.

C. General

• Ensures that all proprietary, financial and resident information is kept confidential.
• Respect and maintain confidentiality of the office, its records and restricted information
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Promotes the company’s mission and philosophy.
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor with all Employees, Residents, Visitors, and Families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and provide information as requested and required.
• Ability to communicate proficiently in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet requirements of the job.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, 30 pounds regularly.
• Experience with accounting and financial software (i.e. Yardi, Quickbooks)
• Ability to analyze information and report research results.
• Employee is organized, has data entry skills, general math skills, pays attention to detail, is accurate and thorough.
• Ability to teach / train others effectively.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :

Knowledgeable in accounting and financial software applications. Two years of experience preferred.

EDUCATION :

Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or business.
