Position Overview-
- Manage legal aspects of the firm’s litigation practice.
- Portfolio management of an average of 50-75 active litigation cases focusing on pretrial practice, trial practice, and appellate practice with an emphasis on case oversight, strategic planning, client communication, document management, risk assessment, and settlement negotiations.
- Serve as counsel during stages of litigation focusing on pre-litigation, pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, trial attendance, post-trial, and appeals.
- You will motion practice, attend hearings, conduct pre-mediation conference calls, and mediations.
- Guide operational staff in implementing procedural changes and approve these changes as needed.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the firm’s needs and on your career development / progress.
Experience and Competencies
- Required-
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- License to practice law in New Mexico
- 3-5 years of experience representing financial institutions in contested litigation
- Our ideal candidate will bring with them-
- Admission to practice before federal district
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Superior organizational skills
- Proficiency in legal research applications such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or other related systems.
- Experience in managing contested default cases and banking litigation specific to the jurisdiction

- Work Location and Schedule
- We practice law in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington. Our York, Nebraska office supports all locations.
This hybrid position requires onsite presence in our Albuquerque, New Mexico location 2-3 days per week after a 90-day training period and upon management approval.
- Typically, your schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm.
