Overall responsibility and accountability for operations to ensure optimum profitability and financial success. Responsible for the minimal attainment of all safety, health, and environmental requirements, quality objectives (and improvement of), manufacturing / productivity KPIs (and improvement of), and customer satisfaction.

This position expects a management and leadership approach that must align with a team-based culture leading towards achieving and exceeding all KPIs and budgets.

This role requires personal accountability and consistent communication in alignment with senior leadership’s vision, mission, strategy, and philosophies.

This is an on-site role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Overall Responsibility to :

  • Profitably produce folding cartons and the formed tray business through collaborative interactions with senior leadership, sales leadership, sales representatives, marketing, customer service, H / R, finance, manufacturing, R & D, shipping, and the manufacturing management / supervisory teams.
  • In conjunction with the VP of Corporate Operations, ensure that capacity meets customer demand and display the flexibility to expand capacity to meet demand surges and quick release orders.
  • Monitor production and office operations in conjunction with the VP of Corporate Operations and other management; provide feedback and input as issues / situations arise.
  • In conjunction with the VP of Corporate Operations, identify CI opportunities in manufacturing and execute and maintain yield / throughput gains / improvements.
  • Consistently achieve / exceed daily, weekly monthly and annual facility production budgets.
  • Oversee facility costs and financial budget; monitor and report income and expenditures.
  • Oversee / manage location A / R, F / G, WIP, R / M to minimize cost risk / exposure.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of personnel, including Supervisory and Managerial positions.
  • In conjunction with the VP of Corporate Operations, monitor plant (and property including the sister location) conditions & practices to ensure compliance with all environmental and OSHA rules, regulations, and documentation.
  • In conjunction with the VP of Corporate Operations, monitor adherence of personnel to Company rules & procedures, collaborate when necessary in employee disputes, confrontations, and / or complaints, and counsel employees as necessary.
  • Engage in labor negotiations with the Labor Union and attend grievance and arbitration hearings; formulate responses as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain positive professional relationships with vendors of production machinery, equipment, raw materials, outside processing and building maintenance.
  • Research (with team), assess and recommend purchases, including capital purchases, with appropriate ROI evaluations. Monitor capital investments for full utilization after investment and compliance with approved ROI.
  • Travel to customer sites with sales representatives (as appropriate) and / or management to assess needs, and in response to production / quality / service issues.
  • Attend and participate in Strategic Planning, Sales and related meetings and follow up with regular monthly and quarterly reports / inputs including Balanced Scorecard updates.
  • Attend and participate in QA related management meetings and audit opening and closing meetings.
  • Attend and participate in staff and operational review meetings and provide current requested data.
  • Review estimates and provide timely job close-out reviews. Complete actual and individual job close-outs comparing production to the original estimates for potential future adjustments / measurable activities and improvements tracking job-specific improvement information.

This may include raw material alternatives, and manufacturing improvements, (5-Ms) at the Indiana location in collaboration with CFO.

Review long / high volume running and regular running die / designs for ongoing CI opportunities in collaboration with the VP of Corporate Operations and the CFO.

  • Ensure on-site accounting personnel maintain timely transactional performance in areas of Billing, A / R, and A / P in collaboration with CFO and finance team.
  • Understand and execute on effective and annual professional objectives and performance feedback with subordinates in alignment with the company President.

Work in Conjunction with :

  • Owners / Board of Directors, President, CFO, and VP of Corporate Operations to ensure that Capital / Cash, manufacturing, employee engagement, and other requirements are in line with overall corporate goals.

Qualifications :

  • Technical knowledge of Folding Cartons & associated equipment.
