Description : The Calais School is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Speech and Language Pathologist to work part time 2-3 days per week for the 2024-2025 school year.
The successful candidate must be passionate about helping children achieve success and be willing to support a friendly, positive, and professional environment.
Requirements : Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards of practiceEvaluate students using appropriate tests, skilled professional observation, and supplementary information from other agencies and recordsExperience working with high school studentsExperience with young adults - carrying over skills to community and workplaceEffectively implement techniques / tools to work on social pragmatic language skillsIncorporate technology into lessonsExperience drafting documents for IEP's and goal writing at the high school levelInterpret assessment findings and appropriately convey information to parents and school teams.
Participate with the school team to develop Individualized Education Programs and Section 504 PlansDevelop and implement intervention strategiesEvaluate and report on student progressCommunicate and consult with school staff, parents, administrators, physicians, community, and other professionalsServe as a resource to parent, school team, staff, and administrationCandidate must possess a CCC-SLP certification and has experience working with children K-12.
