Job Summary
Provides direct patient and family education in an outpatient setting, to include diabetes education and medical nutrition therapy services .
Manages the daily operations of the assigned department, to include scheduling and communication with patients and providers.
Maintains accreditation with the American Diabetes Association as a recognized center for diabetes education.

Essential Functions
- Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements nutritional therapy services for assigned populations.
- Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the DSME programs. Arranges and coordinates the activities of the advisory groups.

Minimum Education
Master's Degree required
Licenses / Certifications
Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) required
License : Registered Dietitian or Licensed Dietitian / Nutritionist (RD or LDN) i n the state of North Carolina
Certified Diabetes Education required within 1 year of hire or transfer into position. Insulin pump / CGM certification preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
At least two years full-time clinical experience within the last five years in direct Diabetes patient care. CDCES preferred.
