Job Description
The Strategic Program Leader P ovetacicept (POVE) Program will provide cross-functional leadership in C ommercial M anufacturing and S upply Chain ( C MSC) in support of Vertex’s newly formed POVE portfolio .
Povetacicept is a Phase 3 ready asset that is potentially best-in-class asset for IgA nephropathy ( IgAN ), a severe autoimmune disease, with potential benefit for other autoimmune diseases of the kidney and blood.
This role will play an integral part in the late-stage development and commercialization of Vertex and Alpine’s POVE program by building a long-term manufacturing and supply chain strategy and roadmap, prioritizing key projects and investments encompassing product launch es, post -approval enhancements and lifecycle management plans , process and method technical changes, sourcing and scale up activities , robustness / quality and productivity projects.
They will ensure global alignment with the internal Disease Strategy Team ( DST) , as well as, planning and hitting all Commercial Manufacturing & Supply Chain goals and targets.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead the CMSC cross-discipline teams supporting the POVE program with specific focus on the launch of Vertex’s first commercial therapy in this space as well portfolio lifecycl e planning teams.
Th is includes the development of goals specific to the POVE program and align ing operational plans with different CMSC functions in support of those goals.
Represent CMSC on various POVE program related cross - functional teams including the corporate Disease Strategy or Project Team, development manufacturing teams and commercial launch teams .
Develop and a lign program specific operational plans with tech transfer / validations teams and with Commercial Manufacturing operation leads.
S upport and enable successful integration of Vertex and Alpine CMC and CMSC teams ( Vertex’s newly acquired company ) through the POVE team.
Collaborate and align with project manager to track and manage program-specific deliverables.
Communicate progress and proactively escalate issues with D isease Area E x ecutive (DAE) and CMSC LT.
Anticipate future industry trends and keep abreast with a strong foundational of knowledge of manufacturing, development, and supply.
Minimal Requirements :
B.S. or BA in science and / or engineering (biotechnology, biology, chemistry, pharmacy, engineering or related sciences).
Master or advanced degree (sciences or business) preferred.
10-15 years extensive experience and demonstrated leadership in Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, with a significant component in manufacturing, development or supply.
Capability to build cross-functional alignment including R&D, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Regulatory, Finance, and Manufacturing partners.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
Demonstrated expertise in critical thinking, influence, negotiation, problem solving, strategic thinking and leadership in a matrix environment.
Demonstrated strong leadership capability with ability to make and act on decisions while balancing speed, quality, and risk.
Demonstrated ability to influence areas not under direct control to achieve objectives and effectively communicate challenging goals and objectives
Ability to work in a matrix environment and build strong relationships by being transparent, reliable and delivering on commitments
