Job Summary : The Business Analyst acts as a liaison between the Operations departments, Quality Assurance and Technical resources by planning, conducting and directing the analysis of complex business problems.

The Business Analyst works to identify functional and technical requirements through gap analysis and process flows; assists the business users in setting priorities;

assists Operations in developing and establishing consistent and effective business efficiencies. The Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, validating and documenting business requirements, while ensuring that they clearly reflect true business needs and correctly represent all stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Work collaboratively with project teams and / or Operations associates
  • Research, evaluate, and analyze data and work flow processes to develop business requirements and / or present recommendations on process improvement and new project requests
  • Participates and facilitates meetings across multiple departments to validate business and user requirements and assist in test case development
  • Participate and facilitates work sessions with technical resources and Quality Assurance to ensure all parties understand the business needs, and to discuss potential solutions, timelines, and any project dependencies
  • Work closely with team members to learn continuously through training, mentoring, and research
  • Work independently and lead assignments / projects of low to moderate complexity
  • Adopt the culture of responsibility and accountability for one's own and other team members' contributions to the success of the company
  • Accept and manage changing priorities and address issues swiftly and professionally
  • May be involved in QA / UAT activities
  • As needed, miscellaneous duties as assigned by management

Primary Skills & Requirements :

  • College Degree preferred or equivalent experience in professional work
  • 1-5 years Business Analysis or similar experience
  • Specific knowledge of insurance company operations preferred
  • Extensive experience planning, facilitating, eliciting, documenting and managing business, functional and technical requirements
  • Act in accordance with established IAS Standard Operating Procedures and maintain confidential information
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills for varying audiences within the organization
  • Display flexibility with priorities within a dynamic work environment
  • Exhibit self-direction and proactive problem solving
  • Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Demonstrate successful hands on project experience with varying scope and size
  • Use tact when expressing ideas or opinions to respond to objections successfully. Facilitation skills are preferred
  • Work to develop a broad technical knowledge of IAS Operational systems, processes, and procedures
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
