Maintenance Mechanic - Grand Prairie, TX
PDQ Skilled Trades is seeking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic in the Grand Prairie area. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for Repairs, installs and performs preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure that such equipment is in good operable condition at all times.
Uses electrical and mechanical expertise to trouble shoot, repair, install and perform preventive and interactive maintenance on all production equipment accessories to ensure that all equipment is in good operable condition at all times.
Shift : / Pay Rate :
- 5-6 days a week-will work weekends
- MMA- 2pm-11pm $37.73
- MMC : 2pm-11pm $29.89
- MMB : 10pm-6am $33.86
- Must be flexible for overtime and working holidays
Primary Responsibilities :
- Install, operates, maintains, checks, and trouble-shoots all types of A / C and D / C electrical equipment. Install, trouble-shoot, and repair solid state and electronic equipment as well as mechanical equipment.
- Uses safe working practices and reports / repairs any hazard conditions at all times.
- Inspects machines, takes any required test, and completed all reports and paperwork as required.
- Perform PM and repair work in accordance with A.I.B. standards.
- Diagnoses and employs proper procedure of troubleshooting to determine when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary.
- Dismantles, repairs, and re-assembles gearboxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pump, valve, and mechanical equipment when directed.
- Dismantles, repairs, and re-assembles electrical motors, relays, timers, and allied electrical equipment.
- Installs and repairs electrical conduit, cables, piping, tubing, controls, and grounding as directed.
- Operates mobile lift truck and hoisting in the performance of maintenance work. Possess knowledge of simple rigging when necessary for equipment moving and relocation.
- Help maintain spare parts inventory for plant.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent preferred. 2 years of industrial maintenance / electrical experience required. Food / beverage processing or packaging environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
- Knowledge of local, state and federal electric codes.
- Certified for PLC programming e.g., Allen Bradley or equivalent preferred.
- Able to read and make proper installations of complex electrical circuits from wiring diagrams.
- Able to disassemble, repair and reassemble gear boxes, fans conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives and all allied mechanical equipment related to electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing oven combustion and safety devices.
- Possesses working knowledge of hydraulic, compressed air systems and be able to read complex diagrams and troubleshoot these systems.
- Experience Installing and repairing pneumatic conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls and grounding.
- Possess working knowledge of the following equipment :
- MIG / TIG / ARC welding equipment.
- Gas & Plasma cutting equipment
- Power tools such as drill presses, cut off saw, lathes, mills, and table tools.
- Electrical test equipment such as voltmeter, megger, ammeter, diode and SCR tester.
