Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Development Operations and Stewardship, the Assistant Director of Development, Stewardship & Donor Event, Engagement & Management plays a role in the day-to-day administration of the Law School’s Development Office, with a focus on stewardship event management, principal and major gift prospect stewardship, and corporate and personal foundation reporting, among other duties as assigned.
Occasional night and weekend work for Law School and University alumni events is required.
Essential Functions
Provides extensive administrative support to the Executive Director of Development Operations and Stewardship by managing complex appointment calendars, answering phone calls from principal and major gift donors, liaising with Deans, faculty members, and department heads, and making travel arrangements.
Performs other clerical duties to help the office run smoothly and efficiently.
- Incorporates best practices for stewardship of Law School alumni, serving as the first point of contact for donors who call the School to inquire about their giving, events, and other initiatives and wish to make a gift.
- Manages stewardship event logistics with a focus on the running of data to create and mail invitations, track RSVPs, provide accurate and timely attendee follow-up, produce of name tags and other event collateral, and more.
- Partners with the Executive Director on corporate and personal foundation reporting calendar, ensuring cross-functional partners are notified of reporting requirements and provided sufficient time to submit reports.
- Uses Canva and other design tools to lay out foundation reports and other specialty stewardship correspondence for significant donors and prospects.
- Generates sophisticated PowerPoint presentation slides, extensive lists, mail merges, and reports using Fordham Advance, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
- Assists with prospect and donor data management, including maintaining prospects contact information and call reports in Advance, as well as generating monthly visits and proposals reports from the Fordham Advance system and Fundraising Performance Management system (CRM Advance and Blackbaud FPM) for the fundraising team.
- Assists in the production of various reports for distribution to Law School Advancement, Law School Faculty, DAUR, Dean’s Office, and Board members.

Required Qualifications : Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of progressive professional experience supporting executive-level professionals.
Required Qualifications : Knowledge and Skills
- Solid mastery of MS Office applications (especially MS Excel, Powerpoint, and Word), Google Suite, and a good understanding of database applications. G-Mail Merges.
- Utilize Google Calendar for scheduling meetings.
- Solid ability with preparing financial-related reports and presentations.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally; demonstrate excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented team player with a highly professional manner.
- Experience in dealing with senior executives in the profit and non-profit sectors and comfortable dealing with professionals at all levels.
- Able to work independently to solve problems with little supervision.
- Personal comportment consistent with DAUR’s core values.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Interest in fundraising and / or higher education.
- Experience with Canva, SAPConcur, Zoom Software, CRM Advance and Blackbaud FPM a plus.
Minimum Starting Salary : $62,400
Maximum Starting Salary : $70,000
Note : Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
