On Call Counsel -
Our client is a New Jersey practice seeking a seasoned Senior Associate Attorney with a strong foundation in general litigation and a focus on employment law.
This role involves providing comprehensive legal counsel to the organization, managing complex litigation matters, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, as well as a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on a variety of employment law matters, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and leave laws.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents.
- Provide strategic legal counsel to management on employment-related issues, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Represent the company in administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings as needed.
- Develop and implement employment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Stay abreast of employment law developments and provide regular updates to management.
Qualifications :
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar required; admission to the New York Bar preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in general litigation with a strong emphasis on employment law.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating employment contracts and agreements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with employment litigation in state and federal courts.
- Knowledge of employment law regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
