Transportation Operations Specialist (Motor)

As a Transportation Operations Spec., you will be responsible for the management and operation of a fleet, and serve as a single source for all Fleet Management services and support for assigned customer and supplier accounts.
Locations : FAS, Zonal Fleet Management Division, Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) in the following locations :
Anchorage, AK
Boise, Idaho
Richland, WA
Vancouver, WA

Duties
- Identifying and satisfying assigned customers’ vehicle requirements, or providing understanding for why requirements are unattainable
- Providing oversight of established measures of program performance and asset management
- Managing assigned commercial vehicle maintenance and repair vendor(s), potentially including vehicle transportation and marshalling vendor(s)
- Evaluating maintenance trends and downtime, customer complaints and both customers and vendors procedural compliance with GSA Fleet processes and policies
- Sharing the responsibility to perform some clerical, along with technical and administrative tasks to accomplish these responsibilities and to meet workload demands

Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area.
Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within 45 days.
At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agencys telework policy.

Anchorage, Alaska starts at $74,317 per year
Boise, Idaho starts at $66,214 per year
Richland, WA starts at $66,214 per year
Vancouver, WA starts at $70,583 per year
GS-11 : To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience assisting in managing, purchasing, operating, and / or maintaining a fleet of government-owned or commercial motor vehicles.
This experience must have included :
- maintaining data on fleet vehicles in an automated system;
- answering inquiries from and providing assistance to fleet customers / clients;
- identifying customers' vehicle requirements;
- researching and / or analyzing fleet operations.
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or have successfully completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.
M., if related. Your major study must be in one of the following : accounting, business administration, commerce, economics, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
A combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.

Anchorage, Alaska starts at $89,076 per year
Boise, Idaho starts at $79,363 per year
Richland, WA starts at $79,363 per year
Vancouver, WA starts at $84,923 per year
GS-12 :
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience managing a fleet of government-owned or commercial motor vehicles using an automated fleet management system.
This experience must have included :
- reviewing, analyzing, and maintaining data on fleet vehicles in an automated fleet management system;
- answering inquiries from and providing assistance to fleet customers and vendors;
- working with customers to identify & assess vehicle requirements;
- researching and / or analyzing fleet operations.

Bargaining Unit status : Will be determined based on duty location.
