Job Title : Commercial Mechanical Engineer
Location : St Paul, MN
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Commercial Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the following :
Creating engineering documents and equipment specifications that align with the contracted scope of work and ensure the application of Thermodynamic Principles (.
HVAC Engineering and Design, load / energy modeling calculations, .
- Utilizing design / drafting software, such as Revit, to produce drawings, schedules, and details.
- Demonstrating a basic understanding of construction practices in Architectural, Electrical, Civil, and Structural Engineering.
- Collaborating with other disciplines (electrical, controls, structural, commissioning) to ensure project success.
- Developing and managing budgets for assigned scope of work, ensuring adherence to project scope.
- Overseeing complete projects as a project manager, leading a project team.
- Contributing to business development efforts through proposal input, meetings, and presentations to prospective customers.
- Providing work direction to team members, including subcontractors, as needed.
- Reviewing and approving final equipment selections and drawing submittals.
- Offering technical and engineering support to other departments / disciplines.
- Managing construction administration tasks, including leading and attending meetings, reviewing change orders, and responding to RFI's.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Hold a valid Mechanical Professional Engineering license.
- Minimum 6 years of engineering experience in an engineering consulting firm.
- Proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD.
- Knowledgeable in psychometrics and pumps / fan laws.
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing systems, selections, and optimization.
