Job Description : Special Education Teacher
Location : Georgetown, Texas
Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Georgetown, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide personalized educational support to students with special needs, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Modify and adapt curriculum and instructional materials to acmodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure student success.
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and monitor their progress regularly.
- Provide specialized instruction in small group and one-on-one settings.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Utilize various teaching methods and techniques to engage students in the learning process.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and ongoing professional development.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and municate effectively with parents and guardians.
- Stay current with special education laws, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in Special Education (EC-12).
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
Licensure and Certification Requirements :
- Texas Educator Certification in Special Education (EC-12).
- Additional certification in a subject area (e.g., Math, English Language Arts) may be required based on the teaching assignment.
- pletion of required Texas Education Agency (TEA) training and professional development.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
