Prokatchers is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a travel nursing job in Long Beach, California.

Scrubs : Caribbean Blue scrubs (not provided)

Description :

Oncology Infusion RN - Chemo / Immuno Certified for a fast-paced clinic

Non-oncologic infusions in addition to chemotherapy / immunotherapy

Solid mass and heatologic cancer dx.

Pharmacy and Social Services provider support, NP coverage in house.

Experience Required :

3 years’ experience

ADN accepted and must be enrolled in a BSN program.

Recognize / manage side effects

Care of Patient with Various types of Cancer (Bladder / Kidney Cancer, Brain cancer, Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Ear / Nose / Throat Cancers, Kidney Cancer, Leukemia / Blood Dyscrasias

Liver Cancer, Lung cancer, Melanoma, Multiple Myeloma, Lymphoma / Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Ovarian Cancer / Uterine Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Prostate Cancer)

Administration of chemotherapy

Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy

Continuous Infusion of chemotherapy

IV push administration of chemotherapy

Management / disposal cytotoxic spills

Monitor chemotherapy

Oral Administration of chemotherapy

Recognize / communicate abnormal lab values

Accessing Ports

Care and management of ports

Central line blood draw

Central Line / Implanted Line Care

Infusion pump management

Intravenous hydration / multivitamins

PICC line care

Starting IVs

Antiemetic

Antitumor

Corticosteroids

Neupogen

Hormonal therapy

Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS)

Anaphylaxis

Extravasation injury

Hemorrhage

Required Experience :

One year of experience

Required Education :

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Education :

Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program

Required Certifications & Licensure :

Current RN License issued by the California State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).

Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association (AHA, no HeartCode)

Chemo cert (OCN preferred)
