The Opportunity :
As a Deputy Organizing Director, you will build local grassroots teams that will engage in direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer retention.
You will be responsible for executing a field program and managing a team of Regional Organizing Directors that work to elect Democrats by building and maintaining the local volunteer infrastructure necessary for success in the November 2024 General Elections and beyond.
Job Responsibilities :
Manage, support & coach your Regional team in building local grassroots teams for direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and retention.
Support our Engagement Organizing program by implementing grassroots relational and digital organizing tactics.
Create a strong progressive presence in communities within your assigned turf.
Ensure regions are building the local volunteer infrastructure necessary for success in the Spring Elections and November General Elections.
Implement grassroots field tactics, including managing phone banks and canvasses.
Meet or exceed metrics-based goals for volunteer recruitment & retention as well as direct voter contact.
Work with the Organizing Director to reach underserved populations across Wisconsin.
Develop and maintain volunteer and staff-facing training including webinars and one-pagers as needed.
Address statewide volunteer needs, including outreach to volunteers.
Support Neighborhood Action Team Actions and assist with event logistics.
Work with the Organizing Director on hiring of Regional Organizing Directors and Organizers.
Execute the 2024 statewide organizing and outreach programs across Wisconsin.
Manage direct reports, conducting coaching conversations and creating an inclusive team culture.
Represent the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and our policies.
Work outside of normal hours as necessary for canvassing and election preparation.

Technical Proficiency - Proficiency in Votebuilder (VAN), Google Suite, and general computer competencies.
Previous Organizing Experience - Demonstrated ability to manage a large organizing team under pressure.
Qualifications (Preferred) :
Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel frequently.
