Lab Accessioning Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Lab Accessioning Manager to oversee the specimen intake process and ensure efficient workflow within our laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lab terminology and at least two years of experience in a laboratory setting.

Requirements :

  • Proficiency in laboratory terminology and processes
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and delegate tasks effectively

Job Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage the accessioning team by assigning daily tasks and overseeing workflow.
  • Process and input daily requisitions for facilities and patients.
  • Properly label blood samples, cultures, and other specimens with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure all specimens from facilities are accurate and complete before processing.
  • Spin and transfer blood and urine samples to appropriate stations.
  • Communicate with facilities regarding rejected or missing specimens and ensure timely resolution.
  • Review daily logs to track facility arrivals and ensure timely processing.
  • Document and follow up on any missing information or discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper inventory of workspace supplies to support smooth operations.
  • Ensure all incoming batches are logged accurately for each facility.
  • Prepare send-out tests for scheduled pickup.
  • Provide hourly updates to the Lab Manager to ensure operational goals are met.
  • Prioritize STAT labs , ensuring they are received and processed promptly.
