Position Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our outpatient team. Under the supervision of the Director and / or designee, you will perform routine and specialized imaging procedures, assist Radiologists, and prepare patients for exams.
This role requires operating imaging equipment, developing images, and adhering to radiology standards to ensure high-quality care.
Key responsibilities include maintaining safety protocols, assisting in quality assurance, and upholding customer service standards.
Essential Responsibilities :
Prepare and position patients for examinations, following specific protocols.
Assume responsibility for designated areas and procedures, ensuring technical quality of images.
Assist physicians with procedure-based tasks.
Perform quality assurance and calibration on equipment, and manage supply needs.
May be required to work holidays, overtime, and cover additional shifts for comprehensive patient care.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment, and report equipment issues.
Process and print images as needed, and conduct routine office tasks, such as phone handling and patient check-in.
Facilitate radiology reporting to attending physicians.
Provide guidance to radiology students.
Deliver compassionate care and patient education tailored to various age groups, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
Participate in coverage rotation for other outpatient sites as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements :
Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required; ARRT-RT and / or RT (R) certification mandatory.
Compliance with continuing education requirements, typically 24 CE credits over two years.
Preferred : DOH IV certification or completion within a six-month orientation period.
BLS certification through the American Heart Association required (to be completed within 90 days of hire).
Participation in Image Gently and Image Wisely radiation dose pledge, following ACR guidelines.
